Dog/pet signs

As a wine, beer, and dog lover, for me, this one's a beaut!

I wouldn't say no to plopping to these two at the door!

(it reads: in our house dog hair is both a fashion accessory and a condiment! - very true here with 3 big fluffballs!)

PS sorry for 'checks' - dang neighbours to my south!

Any favourites to share?

Re: Dog/pet signs

Hanging up in my front hall....a sign Dogs live here..

Dogs Live Here

If you don't want to be greeted with paws and swinging tails
Don't come inside, because DOGS LIVE HERE.
If you don't like the feel of a cold nose or wet tongue,
Don't come inside, because DOGS LIVE HERE.
If you don't want to step over scattered toys,
Don't come inside, because DOGS LIVE HERE.
If you think a home ought to smell of perfume,
Don't come inside, because DOGS LIVE HERE.
But if you don't mind all of this,
You will be instantly loved when you do come inside,
Because DOGS LIVE HERE.

Anyone who doesnt like dogs is reminded of the sign,

Re: Dog/pet signs

That one is always a big favourite.

For us, it just needs one wee addition:

If you don't like flying floogers,
Don't come inside, BECAUSE DOGS LIVE HERE!

Re: Dog/pet signs

One has to be careful with dog warning signs now.
it is ok to say" this dog lives here" but not " beware of the dog".

Why?

Because the second one can be seen as you have the dog there as a weapon.

Example you can't say to someone calling at the front door

"get off my property or I will set the dog on you" as the dog is used as a weapon

But you can say " My dog wants to go down my front path would you move back please" and continue doing that until the person is on a public highway.

Re: Dog/pet signs

In my part of the world there is a compny that rents Doberman Pinschers for night security patrol. Dogs are delivered at closing time and picked up in the morning. Its cheaper and more efficient than having a security guard. Experience has shown that security guards sleep on the job where these Doberman's are basically trained to be on their toes all night

Re: Dog/pet signs

There are some brilliant dog signs. We just have a small one on the wall near the gate which reads "beware of dog". It isnīt illegal here to have warning signs re dogs, almost everyone has them. There are also companies that rent guard dogs here too, but they mostly come with a handler.

Re: Dog/pet signs

I don't have any signs up anymore, especially those that advertise what breed you have, because I don't want those scumbags that are looking for dogs to nick, to know where they live.

Re: Dog/pet signs

There used to be a sign on the way to Cheddar that said, " My doberman is not vegetarian!" or words to that effect. Always made me smile.
