Fat Ball Holders for Birds

In my gardening mag.this week there is a picture of a dead bird entangled in a spiral bird feeder.

I don't know how to show you the picture I'm looking at, but a lady called Lisa Dunn posted it on Facebook to warn people.
I don't do Facebook but for those who do, you may be able to see it there.

It seems that the 'Peckish' brand of seed offered free feeders last year along with a packeet of fat balls, they were in yellow plastic boxes.
These were later on a product recall as they were harming birds, but some are still being used.
Peckish said they sell over 430,000 feeders each year and this is the first time it has happened. They say anyone who still has one of these free feeders needs to contact their customer care line.

Yes Rhian, so do I.
As I said, I don't do facebook so I can't check, but the article said it had been "shared 5,000 times, and received over 600 comments so far".
I wondered if anyone here had got one of those feeders and if they knew they can take it back.

That's horrible.I know squirrels can get caught but had no idea birds could. I have never used that type anyway & certainly don't intend to now.

No, it seems obvious to me that the design could be harmful.
