Britains national bird. ?

There is a campaign going for Britain to name its national bird. The USA has the Bald Eagle, Sweden the Blackbird, and India has the Peacock so a shortlist has been produced and people are being invited to name their choice.

The short list.
1) Robin

2) Kingfisher

3) Barn owl

4) Blue tit

5) Wren

6) Blackbird

7) Puffin

8) Mute swan

9) Red kite

10) Hen harrier

Surprise entry is the Hen Harrier, almost extinct due to persecution from gamekeepers. My County Northumberland has the Curlew as its emblem.

The Wren for me a big bird in a tiny body with a loud voice.
On the bleakest of winter days the little wrens can be seen bobbing around by the wall and the bushes brightening my day.
