July Of The Soffits!

Would like to have said "March" of the Soffits - but it's July!

The builders are in, for the week, to replace all the Soffits & Facias.

Lucky to get them as they are working long days!

So this is lockdown number 4 at this abode!

Hope it doesn't rain!

Scaffolding is an interesting part of the cost of doing this job!

One quote was done with "scaffolding rental not included".

The guy had no scaffolding and renting costs were passed on to the house owner - close to a Grand!

This one has his own scaffolding and the cost is the same as the other one's basic price.

Shows the importance of checking quotes!

true we had quotes varying up to £3,000 difference. The local firm we used we had for doing the conservatory upgrade and they were not the most expensive either.

The full Monte, Primus1

They ripped all of the old stuff off, peeled back the first course of tiles to inspect the beam ends, replaced all the wood & Guttering.

Also installed a new over fascia vent as per latest building regs.

There were about 5, in the team, on and off, and they started before 8am & had nearly all done, and tested (it rained) by 7 pm.

I planned for a full week.

They'll be back, this morning to do a check, and pick up all of the scaffolding.

The contractor is on CheckaTrade.

Very pleased.

Estimate was £3,700.
