Jane and her mates had successfully robbed the Deadwood bank of half a million dollars in gold and taken it to her hideout somewhere in the black hills of Dakota.
Sheriff Pat Garret rounded up Calamity and the other girls and took them to prison for interrogation. Then he sent in three Texas Rangers to get the information about the golds whereabouts.
Sam Cook was outside sitting in a rocking chair on the porch of the jail. Funny noises were coming out from the cell windows, ugh! agh! ugh! agh!. He turned to Garret and asked him what the noises were.
"Not to worry Sam, that’s the sound of the men working on the Jane gang”

Crap but original.
I didn't know sam cooke was female??

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

talkin of wandering we have a great folk singer John someone who sings the quintessential "hey true blue" but the point I am making and I know Jem will spot this - [he's a got spotter should have been a beagle in a former life ] IS

he just rambles his way right throughout the old australia - the one that's disappearing and sings about the old ways - rambling on my mind - bit like val donnican but with less sugar - as a young married man back in UK we used to go to our local pub and sit in a crowded barn to listen to folk bands - do they exist anymore I ask??

went out with a mate once and we got into another pub back room - great places these back rooms and this group were doing weird gyrations - I said lets go ask some girls to dance [bein shy meself] he said but I can't dance that - I watched it for a few minutes and was then up on the floor gyrating - it was one of these weird slow gyration movements like you were crawling all over her like a snake [half the chance] and we were dancing to folk music again - I think I told you this story on thread 175??

Bury your memories bury your friends,
Leave it alone for a year or two.
Till the stories go hazy and the legends come true,
Then do it again. Some Things never end.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

If you could read my mind love
What a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time movie
About a ghost from a wishing well
In a castle dark or a fortress strong
With chains upon my feet
You know that ghost is me
And I will never be set free
As long as I'm a ghost you can see

Umm, maybe you were mesmerized, and mistook the sensation, do you remember impersonating a Chicken?
