Re: Plant to aid Breathing

The easiest ones to keep imo are spider plants and peace Lilys

Dead cheap, and in the case of spider plants, they just propagate themselves

A little baby bio and thats all they need

Aloe Vera is a fantastic plant to keep as its not only an air cleaner, but the sap is good for you as well. They are another plant that take abuse, I find they do well in kitchens ( not worked in one where theres not one )

I always have Aloe plants in the house, I have five large at the moment, having just removed most of the 'babies' and repotted the parent plants.
I use them all the time to soothe insect bites, heal sunburn, and even used it on my dog's bare tummy when she came back from the vets recently with clipper burns after being shaved for a scan.
I also drink liquid Aloe every morning first thing too.
Wouldn't be without it.

Re: Plant to aid Breathing

So do these plants perform differently to the majority of plants that take oxygen at night and change it to CO2?

I thought that it was the other way round. Plants absorb CO2 and produce Oxygen.

Most plants (but not all) absorb oxygen at night.

This site explains the 10 most beneficial house plants, what each one helps with, and which chemicals it absorbs.
