My dad had his yesterday, cant remember if I already told you, anyway he has had no side effects whatsoever and he is absolutely fine. He had the pfizer and I was disappointed to hear it only has a 30 to 33% protection rate. Does anyone know what the Oxford vaccine protection rate is?

He should have 99% after the second vaccine. It just means he has to shield for longer.
My understanding of these MRNA vaccines is that they do not stop you catching covid, they stop a severe illness. I'm not sure how that compares with the usual vaccines. They have said that they are not sure whether you can still pass it on.
A step nearer vaccination I just checked my GPs website and they have started on group 4. There are 1000 patients in this category and we are asked to check phone and text messages for alerts to go in.

That’s good news Meg, I hope you will receive your invitation very soon.
I have just had a phone call from my sister saying that one of our cousins (87) had died from covid19 in a nursing home. She had the vaccine at Christmas but was very frail and I believe in the DNR category.

That’s sad news Scot my condolences to you and your family.
Had a call yesterday from my doctors surgery, asking if I wanted the vaccine jab today, Friday at 1300hrs. Obviously I said yes, and got sorted out at that time. Superbly organised it was, and well done to all involved!
