I am not sure what kind of duck this is...maybe a Shoveler? A large duck though...the male was below the bank so did not get a photo of him...watched them for nearly a hour and they didn't change places...

That's what I thought Spitty but I didn't want to look an idiot if I was wrong. Mallards are the most prevalent waterfowl in the world, or so I understand.

I call this one Bottoms Up...

I was at the pond again today and the hen duck was there too, I do agree that it is a Mallard hen. Seldom get any others there except in spring when migrators rest a few days.
Had a pair of mute swans last year but they didn't come this year, maybe they didn't survive the winter as they were here for 4 years.

That is a gorgeous egret! In Florida water birds were a favorite target for my camera.
