I apologise if it seems a bit deflationary-but too many of my oppos, with whom I faced all kinds of cr4p the politicians started then stayed WELL away from -including their offspring/immediate family- and today,we're just an inconvenience to them. Mick-the-Devil & Scattercash McArthy were talking about this very thing with me just a couple of weeks ago. Both served alongside me in various places in which politics/interference had brought death,destruction,misery,life-changing injuries,mind-shredding violence...and both say the same as I do;i.e. we are NOT wanted/valued/respected or appreciated for the sh1t we faced. I actually gave five of my medals to the Heart Foundation charity shop. I found the sods in the back of a long-disused chest of drawers, under a pile of paperwork about the Falkland conflict. I don't want them, the heart foundation needs all the help it can get-so,viola.

ANYFLIPPINGWAY [sorry] Carry On Films - yes,I agree 100%.
Too many shown, too often, always as a 'filler' for the adverts to be carried in. Personally,Carry On Constable still remains my favourite.
Next thing y'know, they'll be showing repeats of Only Fools and Horses.....oh...Ok,Last Of The Summer Wine...
ah my favorite "last of the summer wine" - the heart and soul of english country life [north of the border] - yes the good years !! only to be found on utube these days or are they _ surely alongside hearbeat it's still all there - feck you haven't lost them all whilst I've been holidaying in the antipodes??

I miss Howards Way, set sort of in Sweeties and RJ's backyard.

It may have been Plymouth, it was a long time ago.

It was near Southampton & centred on Hamble Creek.
The pub was a watering hole for bright young things, like me, in the 1980s.

The great thing about THE JOLLY SAILOR was that it had its own jetty and you could sail right up to it & indulge in Whitbread best bitter , with a PLoughmans lunch.

We had a Jolly Sailor, couldn't have been more land locked, funny thing is, it was packed to the gunnels with Sandy Backs, work that one out.

El Spitto.

I gotta hand it to you, they say size isn't everything but your performance in here is quite frankly outstanding.

WE joined in July & August, you & me , the year was 2012.

In that time you have posted 19242 messages , compared to my miserable 5745.

Given that my offerings are longer than yours, that is quite an output.

Well done Paul.

Thank you RJ, but substance is everything, WE have both been substantial in our own peculiar ways, no trade "Off's" Hey.
