Statistical comparisons show that police in the US typically shoot, arrest and imprison more people than similarly developed nations.

"We can't have an informed discussion, because we don't have data," former FBI Director James Comey told the House Judiciary Committee in 2015. "People have data about who went to a movie last weekend ... and I cannot tell you how many people were shot by police in the United States last month, last year, or anything about the demographics. And that's a very bad place to be."

We are therefore forced to rely on estimates -- but even they paint a stark picture.
What conclusion can you draw from that statement.

The NRA call the shots, they should take the initiative to reduce gun ownership.

Many Americans are indeed now choosing to exercise their Second Amendment rights; a national indicator for gun sales is at an all-time high.
Gun culture unlikely ever to be overcome.

Am sure have seen it, that there are more guns in America than people. How many held illegally, guesswork.

Yes, it seems the american fascination with guns is so strong that

Media also have to be more accurate and balanced in their reporting.

There is perhaps no greater example of the polarization of American media than the coverage of Kyle Rittenhouse.

I find it strange that the USA was founded by a predominance of religious groups escaping persecution and Australia was heavily involved in convicts yet who has the highest violence and crime?

Australia was based on mainly British, but America is a mash up of all different nationalities, and they don't mix too well...
