Re: Best Doctor Who

For me the best doctor was Patrick Troughton, closely followed by Peter Capaldi, Chris Ecclestone, and David Tennant. Least favourite - Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker by a mile!
Best (most attractive to me) companion was Martha Jones!

I liked Martha too, only one Dr I didn't take to and in the end turned off was Matt Smith, the show now isn't well written but I do like Capaldi as Dr just wish it wasn't turning into the Clara show though because nice as she is she isn't who I want to watch.

Re: Best Doctor Who

Watched Dr Who from the first episode. Liked the old ones and Tom Baker was the best in those. In the newer ones I liked David Tennant.
Cannot watch Peter Capaldi so haven't really got into this last few weeks.
I cant stand looking at him as he honestly makes me feel sick he is so
ugly to me. Sorry but until they change this Doctor I wont watching it much.

Re: Best Doctor Who

I've been a big Dr Who, but struggled to enjoy this series. I think most of the comments above about dire scripts are correct. However, one of the initial problems with Peter Capaldi's doctor is his lack of empathy. This has changed a bit in the last two episodes. The lack of empathy is very obvious following on from David Tennant and Matt Smith.
Of the more recent companions, Billie Piper was very good and so is Jenna Coleman. My favourite was Catherine Tate, because there was never a hint of romance in the air, they were just buddies. I liked that simplicity of relationship.

Re: Best Doctor Who

Capaldi is more alien hence lack of empathy I think, which suits the part IMO. Many doctors over the years could be charged with the same crime.

Re: Best Doctor Who

What everyone has forgotton or even didn't know is in the original series Dr Who it was stated that he (Dr Who) could only be reincarnated 7 times.
So after the 7th time they are all fakes.

Re: Best Doctor Who

In the last show in the Matt Smith era, the Time Lords came through some kind of time rift and gave him another 12 re-incarnations. Although I admit the initial doctors from 9 to Matt Smith are therefore impostors
