Re: Add-Ons

have now removed Babylon twice and the damned thing's back again. Just keep swapping it to Google or Yahoo. I don't like it when I can't alter things I don't member putting in, in the first place.

Re: Add-Ons

Hazel, have you tried this? It sounds a bit like Norton whereby you can't remove the whole of it unless you use an uninstall tool.

Unwanted toolbars are most commonly installed along with free programs. When installing any free program, don't just accept the default installation. Never just click 'Next' without examining each stage of the installation thoroughly. Be sure to un-tick any boxes that offer toolbars or search engines.

There are quite a few instructions to be found on the Internet regarding the removal of the Babylon Toolbar. I'll link to the one below because it is about removing it from Firefox. Some toolbars can be complicated to remove. If this one can be removed as described, then perhaps the situation isn't as bad as it might have been:

Need to be careful of some programs that claim to clean the computer of unwanted software or malware. Best to read this about PC Cleaner:

Re: Add-Ons

You are right about that, Mart, but I did check out that link before I put it on here.

Now then, would you believe that the problem I was having with adverts on YouTube has disappeared. Mayhap they had complaints, I don't know, but no distracting ads now whilst watching my programmes.
