It's highly unlikely that the death penalty will be brought back but surely the Government can come up with something other than the predictable blurb that means nothing - they trot out the same lines time and time again and nothing changes; the criminals also know this so what's the point?

If the murderers are not of British origin, they should be immediately deported.

we are no longer an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth mentality society - the death penalty has been abolished because we do not believe in this sort of reprisal - this marks us as different from terrorists - we need to stand by our humanitarian beliefs

The sentence should be hard labour, and I mean really hard.
If we work them hard and feed them bread and water, they will die automatically and be glad they did.

Sorry but IMO opinion you've all got it wrong, forget about the death penalty, what these two murderous insane killers wanted, and have achieved, is PUBLICITY and guess what it's being discussed on the OFF.

In my opinion all the film and stuff that was recorded should be immediately confiscated, the media should be gagged (What do they care about lives as long as they get their miserable 'viewing figures' )

None of us should ever have known about this incident, we don't need to know about it and while it may pander to ones self gratification the mere discussing of it only achieves what these two men wanted.

A complete blackout in the media, a quick trial, and then either hanged or on a plane to wherever they came from.

Will that happen probably not, the PC brigade will prevent the death penalty returning and the hugely powerful media lobby will prevent blackouts, so the Muslim world will continue in it's everlasting aim of converting everyone, willingly or otherwise, to their way of life.

And for those that don't know, conversion of the entire world IS one of the Moslem religions main aims, most Moslems want to do it peacefully but as we've seen some want to do it in other ways.
