I had both knees done in 1990...one is still working pretty well. The left one had a revision in 2001 and is not so good now. I have to use a walker. But I had some extra years of mobility from it. Hope all goes well.
My OH has his knee op yesterday .. Removal of the broken bits of knee cap and general clean up..
With knee replacements the most imortant thing is the aftercare.. Do the physio because if he doesnt he will regret it later.
I am sure he will Cass, this is a man who fought his way back from a stroke and had to relearn many things, he is single minded when needs and very determined.
He has just rung it's going ahead and he will be going down to the theatre at 2pm, he was quite surprised how many people booked for surgery today haven't turned up or were very late arriving ! Even the surgeon was late
That's dreadful when people don't turn up, we had that thread recently.
Even at the Opticians last week they had a notice up saying 39 people hadn't turned up for their appointments in one week.
Looking on the bright side though, maybe the missed ops have enabled Steven to have his done today.
Indeed he was originally down for 5pm so it has at least brought it forward to 2pm which when he had to be there by 7am is better IMO, makes it a long day otherwise.

He sounds very determined ..I wish both luck but I dont think with his attitude he will need luck, its sounds as if he is one of those people who make things happen!
Hope everything goes well Julie, i'm sure the doctor's will take care through the operation and have Steven running around again soon.. God Bless to you both and take care...
