Re: Over 50

Good for you mart!

Did anyone make a Big Deal about their 60th or 70th birthdays?
I'm inclined towards burying my head! I dislike birthdays more and more and hate this Big Zero thing these days. Just out with the family for a nice meal will do me, or maybe go away and ignore it!!
Trouble is mine is in the middle of winter!

Re: Over 50

Are you joking..This is the time to be free and do all the things that kids and jobs got in the way of..

OH isnt well and hes just heard hes being medically retired.. We are celebrating.
Yes it means a slight drop in earnings but you know what ?? We dont care. We intend to enjoy life and make the most of every minute we have left together.

He cant ride the Maxim anymore but we have plans for a trike and when the house is sold we are getting a camper so we can take off and live like gypsies all summer..

Our plans are not for slowing down, far from it we are taking this part of our life and shaking it until every last drop is used up!

Nope, not done the Big Zero thing, either. A meal maybe but it's just another birthday. Like you, I'm not into birthdays that much, could just let them pass me by, really.
As long as I get cards from those I love then that's as far as it goes - if I must acknowledge them, birthdays, I mean..

Good for her. What some people fail to realise is that people are different. I don't go running marathons and laughing all the time. That doesn't make me worth any less than someone who does those things. I keep (gently) on the move and keep my brain active and am quite content with my lot........that's my rant over.

It is an inalienable fact, there are 365 days in a year whether you are six or sixty, what is done with those days is up to the individual.

Here is a warning....any negativity on my nice bright happy thread will be immediately reported to the authorities and dealt with Most Severely.
No moaning, no grouching, no insults or naughty language, no complaints of any kind, only sunshine and flowers and positive vibes allowed.

Re: Over 50

Hi Ruthio I'm here just over 60yrs alive and kicking and congrats for kicking ass with some people, it's either the time of year where everybody falls into a deep depression, be it the weather or christmas celebrations coming up i'm not sure, it could even be SAD which i know i get it and also my hubby too. But hey get wrapped up get out and get some fresh air in your lungs and enjoy a nice walk in the park.. I was in the front garden on Sunday just in my t shirt i sawed a tree down to a good size for re-growth then cutting each branch down into black bin liners which took ages i filled 8 bin liners. Then i stained the fence and the wooden troughs. I ached like hell but achieved what i aimed to do... That was something positive!
