Re: Betrayal

Floydy, have you spoken to H?

If not, I really would suggest you do. If no-one has contacted him since the outburst, this may get make him feel that no-one cares that he was so upset, and make things worse.

You could just say that you were worried about him and about what has made him so upset with Steve, and ask if it was because of the grieving.

Please don't leave him to make the first move. Something like that happened to me a few years ago, and it broke the group up, because the the person concerned was 'left' to come back in their own time, and that made them feel irreparably hurt, and they never did.

Re: Betrayal

Pleased to hear you are all attempting to sort things out Floydy,
don’t let the incident fester too long as it will become too difficult to repair. One of you should definitely contact H to invite him as normal to your next meet up, that way it will less embarrassing for you all.

How nice that you were able to meet up with Phil again too.

Re: Betrayal

Thanks all
We're due to meet up again hopefully on the 16th (next weekend we have promised our wives to give them some time with their husbands!). I'll give 'H' a call before then for a chat. I'm sure things will be fine

Glad to hear tings are a bit better Floydy. Loved the bit about being 'drama Queens'.

Re: Betrayal

Well said Pyxell. It doesn't matter that H in his grief, made a show of himself with his actions, he is still one of the "gang" and at a time when perhaps he would never say so, he would still want and need his mates to support him every bit as much as S seems to have had.

Expecting him to make the first move may very well make him feel unwelcome and in the wrong (which he was, but not in his eyes). Perhaps he even felt that you all didn't care enough in how upset he was, or even have an understanding of what he was going through. No-one will ever know unless he cares to disclose how he was feeling and why, on that day.

Please don't let him feel like an outcast and take sides. Make him feel welcome and hopefully, he and S will make things up between themselves soon enough. Life is far too short for lifelong pals to argue.
