Re: Biscuit Dunking

I dunk. My MIL hated me doing it, so I did it just to spite her.
Also as stated it depends on the texture of the biscuit. Some only require a quick dunk as leaving it too long in the tea, it will drop off into the mug.
But then it can be retreaved later and eaten with a spoon.
Also if the biscuit is too big to go into the cup/mug, then it is not ment to be dunked.
Chocolate biscuits are a no no as the chocolate melts and makes such a mess.

Playing conkers, seeing who can roll a giant cheese down a hill fastest, and welly throwing.

I'm from Scotland and I dunk biscuits so do many people I know .
Ginger nuts have to be dunked longer but Malted milk for a shorter time .
Chocolate biscuits would not be a good idea the chocolate would all melt .

Apparently there is a definite skill to chocolate biscuit dunking

Dunking a biscuit into a hot cup of tea is such a time honoured tradition and the chocolate digestive wins hands down.

The best strategy is a flat-on approach, biscuit-side down to minimise chocolate bleed into your tea or coffee and to maintain the chocolate layer.

Stop being silly, Mupsy. I'm being serious.

Another question...Do you people dunk in your own cup always or do you also dunk in strangers cups occasionally?

Tis true Ploppy. There is a village, I can't remember where exactly, and they have a cheese rolling contest every year, its on telly! In fact all three of the things I said are true, but I forgive you.
There must be someone on here who will know about the cheese rolling?

Half a mo, here it is: www.cheese-rolling.co.uk/

About the dunking, I only indulge my habit in my own cup of tea. Same as no one can dunk in my patch either.
