Are you calling ALL of us Lefties sue?

To be honest I think most of us more or less expect increases on alcohol but it is rather crass to roll the two together; Bingo & Beer, as if that's all the working man really cares about.

I used to be a staunch Labour supporter until I woke up to the fact that Socialism is a diluted form of Communism in the Western world and even Karl Marx admitted true Communism could never work.

I also do not think all Conservatives are toffs as you put it; another generalisation there.

To me, and hundreds of thousands like me, my vote is important.

People died to get that privilege so I use it gratefully but I do not vote for a party intentionally, I vote for the person after I've done my own research.

Consequently I've voted for a Conservative in local Elections but not in National Elections where I used to vote Labour because I naively thought they represented me.

Several years of watching the Aztec Two-step in the Labour Party has convinced me that as a party they've lost their way whereas the Conservatives still fail to understand that ordinary, working people now include highly educated, professional people who are more than capable of discerning complete hogwash from genuine policy, such as this tosh about Bingo & Beer! stevmk2

There are a few very wealthy Labour MP's and many others who have aspirations in that direction, the very things they claim to despise in others, they know nothing about the 'working man' either......except that most of 'em are foreign now!!

To the general public outside of Hull then Yes, that's what we think but, as the chairman of Hull East Labour Party put it:

"No matter what the national media say about John, he was a good MP and has served this constituency excellently."

That was part of his job Patsy and it appears that he was good at it so, had he been my MP, regardless of what political leanings I had, he probably would have got my support. stevmk2

Another Labour MP - Michael Meacher - just have a look at the number of houses he currently owns and is receiving rent from.

No wonder we get disillusioned.....as for Prescott, well I don't think very highly of someone in his position who thumps when all else fails, a thug! He also claimed on expenses for a bit of work on his house that he could well afford to pay for himself, no, my opinion of him has not changed. He didn't think much of the House of Lords and the class system but that all changed pretty damn quick when HE became a Lord!!!

All of your above post, is what I have based my opinion of Prescott on too .... Didn't say I'd changed my opinion - just that it was 'interesting' .....

Yes Jen darlin' - Prescott is a hypocrite and I too despise him for his betrayal.
