Re: Is an Older person's point of view less Valid than that of a Younger Person.
Young people have always thought older people's opinions are worth less than theirs. Remember the lines from Alice in Wonderland -Re: Is an Older person's point of view less Valid than that of a Younger Person.

It depends on the subject. For example, youngsters wouldn't have much knowledge about old age health problems, pensions, retirement, mortgages, and loads of other things they haven't yet experienced. Therefore wouldn't be able to be alot of help with their opinion.Re: Is an Older person's point of view less Valid than that of a Younger Person.

To those of you who misread my post, I 'posed the question' not 'made an assertion'. I think the consensus is that age makes no difference. I just wonder why some posters dismiss the views of others by referring to them as 'Old Gits' as I've seen in a recent post !Re: Is an Older person's point of view less Valid than that of a Younger Person.
Re: Is an Older person's point of view less Valid than that of a Younger Person.
The trouble with having points of view as an older person is that they may only serve to make a person more discontent with life. Have a point of view when young and there's the option of acting on it and perhaps making a difference. When older, there probably isn't the time left to do that. Other than the interest they provide, having points of view will make no difference to what will come to happen.
