Can I suggest that the ventilators, etc might, just might, be being paid for out of our burgeoning foreign aid budget?

We do have a deal with India to produce a proportion of our Astra Zeneca vaccine order. So a goodwill gesture at such a time is not just about money. We need trade links with them to be strong. it's worth investing in relationship building when they are in dire straits.

Look, the reality is that we have none.

It's hard to accept but it's true. All we do have are nations that hate us to different degrees of hate, and some that it suits them to use us by pretending to be our "friends". Until it no longer suits or benefits them ----.

Then there's America where the "special relationship" ended in the very early 20th. century.

The Australian Government led by PM Scotty from Marketing has leapt in to action with the same speed and compassion that he showed during the 2019 bush fires by calling a meeting to consider sending aid to take place later today.

Meanwhile one of his Ministers with little more compassion, Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews, says Australia has an obligation to support the 8,000 Australians stranded in India, which is suffering a devastating new coronavirus outbreak.

Last week, National Cabinet announced there would be a 30 per cent reduction in flights from India — both commercial and government-organised repatriation flights — after a spike in cases in returned travellers.

Ms Andrews would not pre-empt whether the NSC would recommend further travel restrictions, saying decisions would be based on medical advice.
