Do you reply to every post?
I would reply if a post was directed at me but I don't feel obliged to respond to every subject/post nor would I post in a thread that didn't interest me

Re: Ignoring posts

Hi

I was married for most of my adult life, so I am quite used to having my views ignored.

I think most of us have endured the silent treatment in relationships from time to time

A relationship is two way. Generally I think people are nice, and prefer positive encounters rather than negative ones.

When faced with this situation you could ask yourself:
  • Did I post something of interest?
  • Did I post something that people might actually want to reply to?
  • Was what I posted inviting or compelling?
  • Have I upset someone - to the point that they want to ignore me?
  • Do I respond to posts in an abrasive manner?
  • Am I actually a nice person - one that people enjoy engaging with?

As I said, most people (especially those who spend quite a bit of time on forums) are usually there for a positive experience, and so if you find your posts being ignored perhaps it's not actually their fault...

Re: Ignoring posts

If you feel ignored, try saying something really profound, totally irrelevant stuff works a treat or just take the opposite view to the majority of replies.
I've found these things help, or you could just have a right old rant but, that sometimes results in worst things than being ignored.
You may as well just slope off into a corner and plot revenge 😉
