I've been in Cedar Rapids. If you ever come to visit, stop in and say hello. I'm only about 2000 miles away.

Welcome Mary. Great to see Americans in here. By the way, do you speak English?

We like Americans!

Well, I do!

What I feel we need is more input from US citizens and other countries' residents too of course.

Canadians?

What about a few more Europeans?

Greeks maybe?

Romanians? (Met a lot in Cyprus!)

There's never really been a forum to take over from Saga on that score so why not?

It would make for a great forum with people far more perspectives voicing their opinions!

Nice to meet you Me Again!! stevmk2

Gracias! Merci! Diversity, yes! My heritage is German, English, Irish, Scots, Dutch, Welsh, Hungarian, Cherokee and some other unnamed (by my father) tribe. I feel there's so much to be learned from all cultures.

OK.
Me - born in Malta to British parents, (Royal Navy)

Heritage: - Father's side - Norfolk UK in recent times but family originally listed in Domesday as Vikinger (probably Norwegian).

Mother's side: - Portsmouth UK, originally from French Huguenot exiles, (Yes, really!)

Other known Family connections: - English, Scottish Clan MacTavish and the Kirkwood Clan in Ireland.

Yes, there is so much to be learned from each other's cultures and I have learned much from my travels, although I have never actually met a Cherokee; an Arab named MacDonald yes and I did meet a Lakota Souix and his best friend, (a descendent of James Custer), in Saudi Arabia - does that count?!

As I said, nice to meet you and hope you stay and pitch in! stevmk2
