Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Got up early this morning to pop to Hay for odds and ends. Came back to find middle son and assorted workmen starting to replace the roof on our old work place - only about a year too late, it has been letting in water for some time, luckily only junk stored out there. We have had a really heavy shower since I came home so they had to take shelter in the workshop! Treated myself to two croissants for breakfast. Never seen anything so flaky - had to do a big clear up afterwards!

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

You can tell Christmas is coming. Last week, central heating boiler on the blink and broken window hinge. Today small fridge in Rob's room is defrosting by itself. Heating engineer is trying to sort boiler. Window hinge has been mended and new fridge coming on Thursday (fingers crossed).

Am debating whether to shop on Wednesday (probably at crack of dawn), b ut may forego it altogether if I think I can manage. Going to middle son for lunch on Christmas Day - they are my bubble. Youngest son may pop over to collect presents but won't stay.

Decorating, courtesy of youngest grandson is just about finished. Present packing will continue this afternoon. One Amazon parcel has gone astray, but may yet turn up, courtesy of Royal Mail.

Youngest grandson here again, but we hav en't done a lot today. (Just a bit of dusting and put the cards up). Played Scrabble and watched TV - have a feeling I shall have square eyes after the holiday.

Going to brave the weather and go and do a bit of shopping locally. Hope there's something left in the Co-op.
