Re: Cost of dining out
A friend and I went to a local posh hotel for afternoon tea. There was a hold up to get parked and as I sat there daydreaming behind a refrigerated lorry parked at the side of the hotel I noticed that the driver was unloading boxes and boxes of ready food like steak and ale pies, chicken curry and rice, lasagne and gateaux and cakes.Re: Cost of dining out

Re: Cost of dining out
We visited gardens the other day and we always like to have something to eat and a coffee in the cafe. £5 for a cheese sandwich with no embellishment, so two cheese sandwiches and two pretty ordinary coffees came to just over £15. A packed lunch next time.Re: Cost of dining out
We are getting in the habit of lunching out .... £10 sushi for two or perhaps a couple of sandwiches or burgers for same kind of money. We take our own water, a couple of easy peelers, a little chocolate. Rest up for an hour somewhere comfortable. Miserable old gits we are.
