I'm glad Karl is finally caught, the nuttter. I thought the wedding reception guests were a bit far fetched just carrying on and doing speeches etc, without the bride & groom there, and would the police really just stand outside a place, doing nothing for so long, when a nutter had a hostage? Karl could have murdered her 10 times by then!

Re: Corrie

When there's a potential hostage situation the Police have to stand back and wait for specialist back-up. They didn't know if Karl had a weapon or not, or if he was going to harm Stella so yes, they did do the right thing on this occasion, but I do take your point.

One thing that struck me though. When the officer in charge read Karl his rights, he said he was being arrested for arson and murder, but not for actual bodily harm or attempted murder of Dev.

I didn't like him in Corrie, and I don't think I'll like him in Holby City either, so it doesn't look like I'm going to get rid of him!

Bizarre wasn't it

Ah, the days of the Sweeney and Life on Mars are long gone Mups - in this enlightened age, we'd have to wait eons for backup to arrive, wait for them to have a quick conflab and then get into position!

John Michie was wonderful as Robbie in 'Taggart'.
The lilting Scots accent, the swagger. I hated seeing him as a loser in Corrie.

Re: Corrie

Amazing Dev on floor face down, and hurt, still manages to send a perfectly worded text message with one hand (the left hand, not noticed him left handed before)

I think Dev just did a recall to Jason's phone and left the speaker on.

Re: Corrie

I've never watched Taggart so had no idea about John Michie before Corrie, so fair play to the comments.

He is a good actor, however, and that's why he was so good at being somebody detested by many.

Considering he wasn't born in the UK, but brought up in Scotland from the age of 12, his partly sounding Scouse accent was almost believable, as was Stella's partly sounding Manchester accent so between them they haven't done a bad job.

I do hate "foreign" accents being brought into soaps though when there are so many actors with genuine accents that could take on the roles.
