Oh dear what a morning---out at craft group--got a blister on the top of my toe---got soaked taking the dogs for a walk when I got home--made a lovely lunch, took one mouthful-a knock at the door---someone had come to collect somethinmg from me. Went back in--to find an empty plate !! My dog Chloe had eaten every scrap---Moroccan cous cous--roasted red pepper, chopped celery and spring onion. --wafer thin ham. All gone !!!!!! i am mad---not at Chloe--but at me, being so stupid leaving it where she could get to it. !!! but on the plus side-i had a little miracle happen today...

I have Dachshunds and they've pulled a few fast ones on us with stealing food. On one occasion, Matthew (my son's dad) and I were sitting on the couch eating burritos from Taco Bell (an admitted weakness of mine). Tiffany, one of our dogs, was sitting beside Matthew on the couch just staring at him as he ate. We were watching a movie. Matthew took a bite of his burrito and was holding onto it and looked away to the TV for just a short moment and Tiffany, in a split second, lunged and grabbed his burrito, snatching it clean out of his hand, and took off with it, jumping off the couch and running to hide behind a chair. She had that thing gone in seconds flat.
Another time was when Matthew left a plate of food on the TV tray beside the couch as he got up to go out to the kitchen to get a drink. Big mistake. My mini Dachshund, Casey, jumped up on the couch and was able to reach the food sitting on the TV tray and started chowing down on Matthew's dinner.
Since then, Matthew moves the TV tray a good distance from the couch before he leaves the room. Me, I don't even trust doing that. If the dogs don't find a way to get to the food (by knocking the entire TV tray over) the cats will
Food is not safe in this house.
