Personally, I believe there are far, far worse punishments than the death penalty.Example: A life sentence of being locked up in a "super-max" prison is, IMO, worse than the death penalty. In a "super-max" the prisoner is locked up, totally by himself, for 23 hours/day. No TV, no radio, no contact with any other prisoners and only one hour/day in a small private exercise pen. Only 2 showers/week, shaving once/week.
Many prisoners in a super-max finally go insane.
