Unexpected guest!

Can anyone identify this magnificent bird (come back Nom - we need you) - it landed on my friend's drive this morning demanding breakfast. Obviously a bird of prey - but I have no idea what - wouldn't want to argue with him though - even that crow seems to be bowing!

It was my friend that took the photos, Mags, and emailed them to me so I am not sure how close she was to the birds.

He is a fearsome looking beast - I would want to be at a safe distance. Don't think he would be too worried about people though - bet he could eat a whole one!

He's got an evil look in his eyes Tabs, I know he can't help that but I'm sure it must help keep him safe That blackbird was very brave though.

Not sure, TessA. It is certainly rather large - he dwarfs that crow - and they are not exactly small - are they? Am looking on 'Birdy' sites to see if I can find him.

It looks like a Buzzard we get lots around here...

I don't think so ST Red Kites are huge and have a wingspan of nearly 2 meters.

It might be a buzzard.

Did it have a ring on its leg?
