Dunno about giving up wheat but if it would improve your health bit silly not to I would have thought.

I've given up meat, fish and dairy products. No big deal really.

Thing with wheat it is in so many things, bit like sugar and sweeteners they are all quite hard to spot in some foods.

At this moment in time my diet consists of fruit, veg, bran and bread mainly so to give up wheat would be a bit awkward but not impossible.

Well I'm going to have to throw some beans into the equation I think but I do eat a LOT of bread and as nearly all foods have some sort of protein (bread has quite a lot) even without beans I think I will be fine. I also take vitamins, minerals and calcium tablets to make up any shortfalls but I take them regardless of whichever diet I happen to be following.

Beans are good. I don't know whether it's just me but I find I need a bit more fat/oil than you would be eating or my skin dries far too much so I like my dairy, milk, butter and cheese and even a bit of cream.

Re: Would you give up wheat to feel better?

Well I got my flour today and there is plain and self raising in Morrisons - Yorkshire puds tomorrow, I hope!
Got a few other things while I was there, too.

Giving up wheat is difficult because the gluten free bread is heavy and tasteless and so bl***dy expensive!! There is so much wheat/gluten in everyday stuff, it's mind boggling.
