A feeling that is alien to you?

I have never felt any grief when anyone has died. Even when my favourite grandmother, of whom I was very fond, died. I don't know how I would feel if any of my children died before me, I hope I never have to find out. I must admit I am quite grateful that so far I haven't been devastated by grief like some people.

Are there feelings other posters haven't experienced?

Another feeling I have never experienced is total relaxation.

Re: A feeling that is alien to you?

I believe we were given emotions to understand what love, happiness, grief, pain, and many more emotions feel like, and to learn from them and move on. It aids empathy.

If someone treats you badly for example, and it hurts, you learn not to treat others like that.

If grief hurts, you learn how to master it and it gives you more understanding of someone else going through a painful time.

If having a cuddle helps me feel better, I can pass that on to someone else in need too.

I cannot even comprehend having no emotions, or never feeling love, sympathy, or empathy for anyone else.

I would prefer someone to help me that understood, rather than someone just uttering words, which anyone can do no matter how detached and cold they felt inside.

You might as well be made of stone!

You are lucky then,...some people are cold and emotionless,..because it is alien to them "love"not everyone comes
from a loving home,..so I completely understand ,a lot of people who are emotionless,..lots of help for the youngsters of today, who are living in a violent and abusive environment.
