We might have got this all wrong! Maybe the care assistants were Polish and it was they that were dancing to some traditional folk music perhaps......Hence Pole dancing!

Apart from one slightly odd individual, people on here seem in favour of it and I agree.

I should mention that my wife's brother's partner teaches pole dancing in Plymouth and many of her pupils are students at the local university. It is considered both an art form and a type of gymnastics.

I had heard a rumour too ... I'm not sure it's worthy of calling an Olympic sport.
