Pollution - starting to speed up. Councils pay thousands for broken suspensions.

Speedbumps target ALL drivers Muddy, even the law abiding ones. The majority are being punished for the minority.

Yes but they keep Mr M under control the man has an itchy foot on the accelerator .

Good reasons for the removal of speed humps have already been given. For example: they punish the well-behaved motorists, they slow down emergency vehicles, they cause motorists to slow down and then speed up: the absolute antithesis of anti-pollution measures.

If you want to slow down the motorists who don't observe speed limits, install speed cameras. By all accounts they pay for themselves!

But they are expensive ugly and cause accidents people slowing down too quickly
Personally I think they are cash cows for the council .
Speed bumps are effective and fairly unobstrusive to look at .

Yes, more expensive than speed humps but, as I said, they pay for themselves with the fines they collect.

If drivers slow down too quickly they are not being circumspect. I always have a weather eye out for speed cameras - they are a bright yellow after all - and slow down in good time!
