I've always supported House of Lords but no more they have all had some questionable awards none of them are innocent. Time it was reformed not sure best way forward but something has to be done.

Something along the lines of a guillotine? We could copy our French cousins, and have a free open air event for all the family.
It should be an Olympic event, I am sure we could get a medal.

Lol no I was thinking along the lines of keep the good ones, there are quite a few, and introduce electing the others. But on a lifetime basis with no inherited peers.

Having no evidence doesn't seem to prevent you or your sources of information from making allegations. By applying the same standards your sources used, that the award came soon after the investigation, or in Teresa May's case that campaign funding was given so she is reluctant to act, it seems Jeremy and Shami would be guilty of collusion at least.

This latest corruption by Cameron must surely call into question the validity of the 'honours' system. There's no honour in it; simply backhanders by any other name.

I also believe that the House of Lards should be abolished in its present form. It could be replaced by a democratically elected body, perhaps by proportional representation as a means of counteracting the existing 'first past the post' system. If such were the case, I'd like to see them have more power in that they could, like the Commons, propose and debate laws and also veto decisions by the Commons. In short, both houses would need to agree before new laws are passed.

Further condemnation of Cameron's list from the sleaze watchdog.
