Free tooth brushes for under 5s

This seems odd you can get a tooth brush for 25p in tesco, but they want to give all under 5s them free. Better surely to target the help to families can't buy them than give them to all under 5s when most people can afford them.

Another hare-brained scheme that will cost us money.

Seems daft as they are so cheap and doubt they will be used if not already part of a childs regime.

I simply don't believe that anyone can't afford to buy a child's toothbrush .

I don't think it's about cost muddy it's because so many parents don't see any point in cleaning milk teeth. IMO it's lack of education for parents that's causing it not lack of tooth brushes.

Perhaps it's something should be taught at school or even by nurse that visits when baby comes home. I can't remember who said to clean tashas teeth when they first came through but it wasn't a medical person or school, must have been my nan, but families aren't so much like that any more sadly.

A lot of the parents I see don't even bother holding their child's hand, so I doubt if a free toothbrush will make them clean their teeth. I suppose they will all claim one just because it's free and they are entitled to it. Now, if there was a tooth cleaning App which could be downloaded to their phones, that might work.

I am gob smacked .
Parents should clean their children's teeth and then supervise them when they are bigger to make sure the do it properly.
Yes its tedious and time consuming that's what being a good parent is all about.

Unfortunately Muddy, we live in an age where certain people have to be told how to use a handkerchief and to cover their mouth when they cough. What went wrong??
