I am a virtual amateur then, after a lifetime of seldom being ill and rarely taking any tablet at all, I am on 7 per day now, the consultant didn't sugar the pill (very apt) when last I saw him.
He said bluntly "If you weren't on those tablets you would be dead"

I'm hoping it's only temporary but at the moment I'm taking between 12 and 16 painkillers a day for the trochanteric bursitis in my thigh.

Before I got this I didn't take any at all.

Gosh, seeing these posts I realise how lucky I am. In only take 2 tablets a day of prescribed meds, but take a couple of other things non-prescribed for myself like a multivit+mineral and Glucosamine + Chondroitin.

Was a lot more some weeks ago, but am gradually weaning myself off them. Currently 7 per day, plus injection. Now I've restarted Warfarin, by thursday (my next blood test) am hoping to be able to stop the injection altogether.
