The government implemented this and you have to ask why?Could it be that now the male species earn more than females, there will be a revolt? If they do the same type of job, why cannot women earn the same? It could be that either women get paid more, or the men take a pay cut. Either way, it could cost us, the taxpayer, money.

Most people accept that private companies can pay their staff as much as they like. But for an organisation that threatens the public with imprisonment for not having a licence to go and spend the cash received from these threats on paying people this sort of money. I can see where the anger could come from.

It seems that the Beeb's excuse is that the "talent" would go to the other companies if they don't pay these huge amounts.Let them!
There are plenty of other people with just as much to offer that would be glad of a chance.
(We'd keep David Attenborough though, at any price)

As for the alleged `stars` at the BBC, I wouldn't pay them in washers. Give them a pay cut and if they want to go somewhere else let them. They'll soon learn what it's like in the real world instead of sucking on the BBC teat funded by legalised extortion.
