Re: Watch the planes.
I was at a golf course near Birmingham airport today and the the planes were non stop, flying over!
I hope this isn't derailing the thread too much but l saw something about Croydon airport on television yesterday.
It is now a museum but the history of the first wooden, then metal aeroplanes was fascinating !
It showed a wicker chair that was used for seating in the plane! It showed on a map, the journey that the plane took to get to Australia. I think after all the stops, it took two months to get there and only very wealthy people could afford the fare!
I wish, l lived near Croydon and could visit the museum, as it was so interesting!
