Easy answer for me. I would vote NO.I think trying to define the British National character in Law is a fatuous idea.
We already have a "state religion" (I think!) The Church of England, with the Queen as Defender of the Faith?
Personally, I wouldn't be bothered if all religion lapsed into disuse, as other religious cultures have done over time - but religious faith is not something that should be legislated for or against - our own turbulent history is proof of this.
