About time! Literally!

Except for the fact that I think BST may be better: http://i100.independent.co.uk/articl...me--e1TPV-PiIg

I quite like changing the clocks and don't see what all the fuss is about. Certainly don't want to sacrifice yet another bit of our individuality on the alter of europe !

It's about the one thing I would like to see us join Europe in LOL

Always makes the roads more dangerous as people suddenly find themselves in the dark at a different time of day and in a few weeks we would have seen the changes brought in gradually so we can all get used to them more easily.

Re: About time! Literally!

I vaguely remember they tried leaving the clocks alone back in the 60's and they had to revert to the old way the next year because it wasn't working out, something to do with children going to school in the dark, but I'm not sure on this, maybe someone else remembers it?

Yes, there were complaints from Scotland because it would have been 10 o'clock in the morning before it came light.

Re: About time! Literally!

I'm not sure what the article means when it says "central European time" because here in Hungary, which I've always understood is in central Europe, we alter our clocks on the same date and time as you do in the UK. The only difference is that we're permanently one hour in front of you!

Re: About time! Literally!

Why can't they just change the clocks by half an hour one way or the other and leave it like that?
