Re: HIV pill

Condoms are not 100% safe, my friend was wearing one when he got run over by a bus.

No it's not just homosexuals, the virus is far more prevalent in heterosexuals these days much more worrying practices amongst heterosexuals than homosexuals. The idea of safe sex really hit home amongst homosexuals but not amongst heterosexuals.

Yes, and for 'state' read taxpayers like me. I object most strongly to paying for other peoples stupidity and couldn't care less attitude.

I also don't care if it's only one trillion'th of a penny that I give to these it is still unecessary, as others have said above it only takes few pence and a bit of forethought to prevent catching the disease

Re: HIV pill

Hmmm. Just a thought. Why are contraceptive pills/coils etc given out free of charge when people could just use condoms which are so much cheaper?

Some people naturally have more cholesterol in their body .
If there was some easy way of not having to take statins then that's what he would do .
As I understand it the HIV drug is not required if you use condoms . Therfore I don't see the comparison.
Fair enough, but a lot of statins are, or have been, prescribed even when cholesterol is not raised, purely as a preventative measure. My point was that the NHS seemed to be claiming that they are not responsible for preventative measures, which I find absurd.

True that does seem odd.

Re: HIV pill

Apparently, according to a leaflet I read in the doctor's waiting room, 'A special condom is required to withstand the rigours of anal intercourse'. Hmmm... I wouldn't know.
