Re: Strange rip on my jeans...

Why not simply iron a wide piece of mending tape onto the inside of the tear?
Choose your colour and iron it on, job done.

Re: Strange rip on my jeans...

Ffosse, you may be able to repair your jeans with Wonder-web

Put them inside out, nice and flat on an ironing board, get the Rip as ‘closed’ as possible push both sides tight together, cover the whole length of the Rip with a a strip of Wonder-web, then place a piece of thin cotton material (a piece of old shirt or hankie for example) on top and press with a hot iron

I’ve used this when the seams of jeans have started to wear, good luck

Nah - these jeans are beyond repair the rip is too big, plus the knee is fading too. 3 years isn't bad for a pair of jeans.

I got two pairs (one grey) for £20 each at TK Maxx. John Lewis had designer Diesel pairs for £129!

Does no one have a needlework box anymore? A needle and cotton would do the job.
But I suppose the trend would not be up to standard with a pair of jeans 👖 with sewed up strip.

Re: Strange rip on my jeans...

They certainly split in an unusual place - something I'd never seen before.
