Why not simply iron a wide piece of mending tape onto the inside of the tear?Choose your colour and iron it on, job done.

Ffosse, you may be able to repair your jeans with Wonder-webPut them inside out, nice and flat on an ironing board, get the Rip as ‘closed’ as possible push both sides tight together, cover the whole length of the Rip with a a strip of Wonder-web, then place a piece of thin cotton material (a piece of old shirt or hankie for example) on top and press with a hot iron
I’ve used this when the seams of jeans have started to wear, good luck

I got two pairs (one grey) for £20 each at TK Maxx. John Lewis had designer Diesel pairs for £129!
