Brexit, The Lies.

Hi

So much for no deal is better than a bad deal.

We are being lied to big time.

Liam Fox has been forced to admit that he has only one experienced Trade Negotiator in his team and in spite of a massive recruitment campaign. he has failed to attract any others.

Free Trade negotiations need dozens of specialists.

The myth that will be getting trade agreements as soon as we leave the EU is now well and truly blown out of the water.

He is such an arrogant imbecile that he has stuffed us for all the existing free trade agreements that we had as part of the EU.

He did not consult with our partners, just told them what was going to happen, take it or leave it.

They have left it, and the big players have put in Formal Objections to the WTO, which will take years to resolve.

I despair, I really do.

I feel a bit sorry for him if he asked for help and no one stepped forward then he had to go it alone and if he needed help that explains the mistakes.

I blame Cameron for it all he should have had plans in place for both stay and leave before he had the vote.

To me a 'lie' is something which is said with the intent to deceive and that is not the same as being ill informed and making incorrect assumptions which I think may have been the case here.

Whatever the case I have no doubt we will be getting trade agreements as soon as we are able to freely negotiate them.

You are right there I think Meg, I can't see anyone actually turning down an opportunity to trade with us.

Hi

Of course countries will still trade with us, under WTO Rules.

This is very different to a Free Trade Agreement.

I really don't care if we get nothing from the EU, in fact I'd stake my life on it.

I'd be perfectly happy for us to trade under WTO rules, just as long as we can leave the EU Empire without any financial penalties.

I'm no economist, but I know that a number of experts have stated that EU businesses will be equally disappointed if we gain no free trade agreement with them.

What's more I predict that, should that be the case, they will be making appropriate objections to the EU mandarins and, hopefully, the collapse of the EU will ensue.

Swim I appreciate if we leave the EU without a FTA we will have to pay them tariffs and they us so it would be in both our interests to make an agreement but it is not the end of the world if we don't.

I understand the WTO to which we already belong with its 164 members is responsible for 95% of world trade.
At the moment we have to operate with them using EU ‘schedules’ (which in some instances ties our hands) and I appreciate when we leave the EU these will have to be renegotiated and that may not be all plain sailing .

Some tariffs applied by the WTO will be higher some lower so swings and roundabouts ..

We have turned into a country with many 'soft' people who have no guts, resilience or adaptability and the 'must have everythings' . It won't do us any harm to go without or substitute other things for those we can't get or afford.
There may be and a few rocky years until things settle down but I am confident it will all be worth it in the long term.

Iam as confident as you are that it won't be worth it one little bit.
