Blood curdling screams !

About 2am we all woke up to absolutely blood curdling screams, couldn't get out of bed fast enough, found Betty chihuahua inside a pillow case couldn't find her way out.

If that doesn't give us a heart attack I think we may all be confident we have strong hearts.

What was interesting was Elsie slept through it our brave Labrador would let us all be murdered in our sleep before she bothers to open an eye

Aww poor Betty!
If you all hadn't been so terrified I'm sure the scene would have been as funny as it sounds!

Re: Blood curdling screams !

That must have been frightening. Little Muffin used to scream in the night, it would wake me up and terrify me. He always appeared to be asleep and dreaming. I would sit and stroke him and he would calm down and wake up within a minute or two, seemingly none the worse. The first time this happened was terrifying for me, and presumably for him too. The second time occurred a couple of months later, so it was off to the Vet. Poor little Muffin wasn't having nightmares at all, he was having heart attacks. Once on medication he was fine for the next 4 years or so of his life. I will never forget that awful screaming, so I can well imagine how scary it must have been for you Julie. I hope little Betty's experience doesn't give her nightmares.

Not much fazes her once the incident is over, even being attacked by a big dog hasn't made her scared, very unlike Elsie who is sensitive to even rain which terrifies her.

That sounds like ChoCho, she is terrified of loud noises, hides if it rains (which is very rare here), scared if anything appears in the garden which wasn't there the day before, a new solar light, ornament etc. She will bark at a cat across the road, but if one dares to sit on our garden wall, she's off to hide indoors, she's not the bravest of dogs at all.
