Re: Over 50s Club Manchester/Cheshire

The lunch out was very nice.

Have arrived at next hotel, it might be posher, but is less homely we feel.
Can still get internet access from room, so can't complain!!
View from room not as nice, but still have patio to sit out on.
We have an all inclusive package, but looks like we will have to be careful to check what is included and what isn't.
In our room we have 2 fridges, one stocked with things we'd have to pay for and one that contains the complimentary drinks, then there is a draw, filled with snacks, one side is to pay for the other not, below that is a draw with cups and saucers and packets of tea bags and coffee which we can use, and a bottle of wine which we would have to pay for,
Sounds like the bars have similar pitfalls - talk about making life complicated!!
Been really hot today.
Need to get ready now to go off to our meal.

Oh what a shame it's not as nice. And wow, how confusing do those fridges sound. I presume you have signs showing what is chargeable and what isn't it?

And stop talking of it being hot please! . Getting quite cold here now.

Re: Over 50s Club Manchester/Cheshire

Looks like I was too late to wish you good morning, after breakfast we were taken on another trip ending up at a market, colourful clothes there, but too gaudy for the UK, It was so hot we had a brief mooch round, and then went and sat in the shade of an out door cafe having a drink of fresh juice.
It was lunch time when we came back, so went to lunch and had some lovely fish and chips, served very nicely, the food in this hotel seems to be a better quality than the last one.
After lunch we strolled a few paces and found some shady loungers by the edge of the beach, with a thatched parasol construction, and had a snooze there until the sun got round to us. Came back to our room and made a cuppa, but couldn't get the internet very well at that point and laptop needing charging up anyway, so done that.
Decided that sitting out on the patio, the internet doesn't work as well as in the room itself.
Need to get ready soon to go for the evening meal.

No signs to say what is chargeable and what is not, and presumably not everyone here is on an all inclusive package.
Just have to keep asking and double checking

Re: Over 50s Club Manchester/Cheshire

Yes has been exhausting Jazzi, done a lot of cat napping on the coach!!
Today I got up feeling I would really rather be having a day off, however we will have 2 free days Saturday and Sunday

Too late to say good morning, but good afternoon now.
We went off on another trip, had a walk around a Botanical gardens for an hour, then a five minute coach ride, to another sugar cane factory which has been made into a museum, this was to be another hour wandering around, seeing a lot of what we had already seen before in another 2 places, so another lady and myself chose to sit on a shady bench in the grounds, and watch the birds and lizards - much more enjoyable in our opinion.
After that we were taken to a Mauritian home, where the owners have set up a business making traditional Creole food, so this was our lunch and delicious it was too, probably the highlight of the whole tour so far.

Hotel got an ipad in the room, wondered what it was, found it has the temperature of the moment on it, at 8 am it was 24C and later at 29C.
Went out on the free glass bottom boat trip this morning, and have made use of a sun lounger under a palm thatched parasol for most of the day near the beach, with a gentle breeze coming off the sea, trying to keep in the shade.
