Re: Bells Palsy

I hope you get better soon. I'd be trying to find a doctor tonight, though, if I was you.

Re: Bells Palsy

Thank you all for your support.

I think mine is to do with all the stress i'm having and think it will clear up.

My Sister had it when she was 19 and was about to get married the next day, her wedding photos were terrible, but hers never went away, she still has it now and she is 69.

I have heard about the Steriods tablets taking them for 10 days.

Re: Bells Palsy

This happened to my sister all of a sudden[ I think she must have been in her 70s, she got over it in a few months, apart from a slight twist which wasnt really noticeable

Re: Bells Palsy

I too wondered if it was down to stress, and I do think you have had a rotten year! The rift with your sister can't have helped, either.

Hope it clears up soon. Sending you get well wishes and hugs. X

Re: Bells Palsy

Susie, I have just discovered that one of my BILs had this and it took about 3-4 months to get better.... but people differ on the time to recover.
He managed to adapt to drinking by using the good side of his mouth to sip or using a straw with cold drinks, but his dry eye condition proved the worst symptom, so he had to wear an eye patch.

Apparently it is caused by inflamed nerves, so you can only guess what caused it, but Diabetics need to be careful as viral infections can also cause it.

Unfortunately, you may suffer for a few weeks, but we are all here to listen if you feel like having a moan.

Re: Bells Palsy

Susie it must have bee very scary for you to wake up with something like that.

I met a previous work colleague a little while ago who had BP caused by an inflamed nerve in her face. She had been treated successfully with botox .
I couldn't actually tell there was anything wrong.

Try not to worry, it is something which can be treated
