Re: 100 year-old man in Court

Poor guy,at 100 he shouldn't have to go thru this.Isn't there a statue of limitation's?Hell I'm in my 50s and I can't remember everything that's ever happened to me.Especially finer details, this case smells of lies and bogus accusations.I say let him go.

Re: 100 year-old man in Court

Why is it that most are sympathising with some one who has been accused of a crime and the victim is being made out to be a liar and gold digger. No wonder victims of this heinous crime are reluctant to report it. I have said this before. The CPS has to have enough evidence to go forward with a prosecution.

Because it's just too late IMO if it was reported within a decent time frame so if can be investigated the fine, but wait until he's 100 years old and IMO you've missed the opportunity for a fair trial.

I am not supporting either side, because I know nothing about this case, but I do think that victims should learn that there is a better chance of getting justice if they report it sooner.
I would always support a victim, but I do have doubts when it takes them 40 years to report it.
The press should be prevented from reporting these incidents until after the trial has proved guilt!

I agree. I also think that all identities should be witheld.
Sometimes I really loathe our press and there should be far stricter curbs.

Very true! People can have their lives destroyed by items in the press... even when they are innocent

If you tried reporting it 40 years the chances are the child would have not been believed, or it would have been covered up, especially if it involved a relative or paedophile priest!

Maybe if you had experience abused of this nature you might think differently.
