Re: Trump to be the 45th USA President:your thoughts and the implications

Thanks Pop, I guess I should have Googled in the first place

I doubt if Obama would want to go back.
But, whilst I can understand why the 'founding fathers' might have felt it unwise to have one bloke there for decades continuously,
it seems strange that voters are denied the option after a 'gap'.
Even if a prior pres had been successful and was the favoured potential candidate.

But then again, American politics seems a bit of a mystery to most non-Yanks.

It is to be hoped that Boris stops being so hawkish towards Putin as well.
Looks like Trump has done a fine job of increasing those tensions. I doubt Putin likes to be accused of hacking and holding US presidents hostage to tapes material.

Even if he does do it.

Whether Trump serves full term or not, could Obama stand for pres again ? ?

Not asking whether people would favour that - just could he ?

In answer to this question which was pre-election and I'm not sure if it's the same situation really, but a different way around.

"What will happen if Donald Trump stands down ? Will Clinton automatically become the President, or will Obama have to stay longer until another election campaign has been run ?"

the answer is :

IIRC their constitution says if there are not 2 candidates and hence there can't be an election, the country reverts back to being part of the British Empire.

How about that ? and would we really want it ?

And yet on the news this morning it appears that the Americans are sending additional troops to Poland to deter any expansionist thoughts on the part of Russia.

A last desperate effort by Obama?

Puddles, a couple of questions.
The second one first - What, pray tell, is "IIRC" ?

But also - you are obviously quoting from somewhere and your comments are interesting.
I, for one, would like to follow them up.
Can you give us the source for your quote
and where you got that bit about the Constitution and the U.S. reverting to Britain ?

Fantastic, thank you.

Yes, that was a question put by someone, and as stated the given answer as I posted on here. It was a Canadian that gave that response. I cannot find the relative info that was posted on the IIRC, but have not really searched for it either .

The IIRC is http://integratedreporting.org/news/...ted-reporting/

As a follow up.. this might be of interest, but again I have not read it all. because my pea brain cannot absorb it all at once.(if ever)

Historc Fact....

Noware in the constition did it say that a POTUS can only serve two terms.

Was reported that Washington on his election stated that He should only serve two terms as he did not want to become a Monarch.

The POTUS in the Thirties server 3 full terms and most of his forth one (there was a war on) But died in office.

In 1947 a bill was passed restriction the POTUS to only two terms.

Ratifide in 1951 know as Amendment 22.

Sorry about the spelling my Google spell checker is not working again
