I have seen this too where I live. Plastic shopping bags are the greatest problem because in the water, the bags look like jellyfish, which are one of their primary food sources.Re: Plastics and the Oceans
It's about time somebody invented an efficient way of recycling or destroying the stuff. Materials should not be used before a successful way of disposing of them can be found....If somethings indestructible what did they think was going to happen eventually.....Re: Plastics and the Oceans

The government could do a lot to help the banning of plastic by making it unlawful to wrap so much food in it. We don’t need fruit wrapped in plastic for example, meat can be wrapped in biodegradable bags as our local butcher does. Milk can be returned to glass bottles etc etc it’s not rocket science.
