Hackers

In the Martin Lewis newsletter today, he is talking a lot about internet security.
He gave a website to use to check whether your email address has been hacked and data stolen.

This is the website he was on about, and it's a FREE check if anyone's interested.

Oh no — pwned!

Pwned on 1 breached site

Modern Business Solutions: In October 2016, a large Mongo DB file containing tens of millions of accounts was shared publicly on Twitter (the file has since been removed). The database contained over 58M unique email addresses along with IP addresses, names, home addresses, genders, job titles, dates of birth and phone numbers. The data was subsequently attributed to "Modern Business Solutions", a company that provides data storage and database hosting solutions. They've yet to acknowledge the incident or explain how they came to be in possession of the data.

Compromised data: Dates of birth, Email addresses, Genders, IP addresses, Job titles, Names, Phone numbers, Physical addresses

Mups I worry about putting my email into those kind of things incase they themselves are 'email harvesting' paranoia rules here

My email is very new having been changed last year when B T took over Orange so I should be ok.

thanks for sharing that NOW Meg.

I'm sure it's fine if it has come from the Martin Lewis site.

Apparently Mrs LDs was breached once by a spambot.

I wasn't.

I know what you mean Meg, I did think twice before I put my email in, but in the end hoped it was alright because it was from my monthly Martin Lewis newsletter.
