Shack or Mansion?

Would you rather live in a mansion with 5 acres of privacy & be miserable or a dilapidated, mouldy shack on a a tiny piece of property but very happy?

Re: Shack or Mansion?

Another brilliant thread AC.

i've learnt that I could live in a shack, after living in a homeless unit for three months, with a drinking den above my bedroom. I had peace of mind though.

A happy shack for me

Re: Shack or Mansion?

Why would you be miserable in a mansion I could be happy in a mansion if it was in the countryside
I would fill it full of rescue dogs

It's not what it is but where it is for me ...

Why would you be unhappy in the mansion? What would be the problems causing the unhappiness? Maybe they would be something that I could handle.

Houses are bricks and mortar. You can be happy anywhere. It's peace of mind that makes us happy and content.

Re: Shack or Mansion?

Small house but with a little land would make us happy. Lived in a big house in the past and don't feel the need for one now, lived in a shed with no garden and shed was fine just felt the need to grow things. So small house and little land to grow our own veg and flowers will suit us fine.

Re: Shack or Mansion?

Believe me a large grade 2 listed pile is no fun when widowed. I just want to downsize.
